ADAMS CEP Curriculum Outline for 4th - 6th Grade

4th Grade

Quran and Arabic

Be able to read small simple surahs (will need help at home to make any noticeable improvement)
Memorize At-tahhiyyat in class with the Arabic teacher
Understand comaprion of Jannah and Jahannam through description in surah An-Nabaa

Islamic Studies

Have a clear concept of Tawheed and its importance in the character of a Muslim
Have a clear concept of shirk and the role of Shaytan

Seerah

Understand the strength of Prophet Muhammad's Iman as the source of strength of a Muslim

Project

Choose a problem in the mosque and present a solution as a good Muslim in the light of the Quran, with the help of the teacher. Example: How lying can chnage a small problem into a big problem. Keeping a promise brings harmony.

5th Grade

Quran and Arabic

Memorize surah An-Nabaa and practice reading it. (Reading will depend on the help the child gets at home)
Understand accountability and reward and punishment in the Quran

Islamic Studies

Learn about zakah in details as a pillar of faith and a social system

Seerah

Prophet Muhammad as a team worker, and shura in Islam
Sahaba and their commitment, strength, and weaknesses

Project

Choose a conflict situation and resolve a difference without compromising the values of Islam. Understand the hadith : The strong believer is one who controls his anger.

6th Grade

Quran and Arabic

Work more on Surah An-Nabaa (if finished, move to Surah Yaseen )
Understand comparison of a Muslim with a Mumin: their tests and rewards, their strengths, their taqwa and iman

Islamic Studies

Learn about Hajj, as complete training of a Muslim in relation to Allah and the universe (including mankind and other living beings and resources)

Seerah

Learn about Prophet Muhammad as a leader in difficult times, from day-to=day affairs to battles; his patience, his respect for others' rights, etc.

Project

Presentation or discussion by qualified guests: The role of Muslim in this time
