Muslim, Christian, Jewish, and Sikh Faith members to hold PEACE Gathering at the ADAMS Center ON 9/11 ANNIVERSARY at 5:00-8:00pm,Prayers for peace and national unity to be offered at all events.

WHAT: On Saturday, September 11, 2004, members of the ADAMS Center will conduct and take part in many interfaith activities. ADAMS will hold an Interfaith PEACE Banquet at the ADAMS Center in Sterling, VA, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, in remembrance of the victims of the World Trade Center and Pentagon attacks. Representatives of Christian, Jewish, and Sikh Faiths will be represented and speaking at this event. ADAMS will also be honoring Local Police and Fire Departments for their continuous community service. Local Government Officials will also be speaking at this event. The ADAMS community will also participate in an Interfaith Housing Project for the Homeless in Washington DC on Sat Sept 11, 2004 from 8am to 4:30pm. In addition, ADAMS will participate in Northern Virginia Interfaith Vigil overnight at ADAMS Center on Satruday Sept 11, 2004 at 9pm

In this time of reflection, our hearts are with the victims and the families of the victims of the September 11th tragedy and our prayers are for peace and compassion. Only through getting to know one another on a personal level can people of different faiths build bridges of understanding respect, and tolerance. There are an estimated 120,000 Muslims in the DC Metro area and some seven million nationwide.
