ADAMS Center Hosted Interfaith gathering for 36 youth from Children's Friendship
Project for Northern Ireland on Monday Aug 2, 2004
WHAT:
On Monday Aug 2, 2004 at 10:00am to 5:00pm, the ADAMS Center will host Children's
Friendship Project for Northern Ireland. The main goal of this program is to provide
the kids with leadership tools they can use to promote Peace, Respect and Tolerance,
wherever they are. The teens get to know each other as individuals and establish
relationships.
This session at ADAMS Center is just a 1 day part of an overall 3-week program.
This year they have brought 36 teenagers so they can spend some time in a neutral
place knowing each other and engage in a constructive dialogue.
Sharon Harroun is the Chairperson for the Children's Friendship Project for Northern
Ireland. This purpose of this organization is to work with Northern Irish kids so
they can end the political/religious conflict in that country
Agenda:
1- Interfaith presentation by leaders of various Faith communities.
2- Interfaith Dialog with teens from ADAMS.
3- Working session with facilitators
