Featuring Imam Jesse Maroney and Br. Tobias Tubbs of Link Outside
Join us for a powerful conversation on the spiritual and human needs of incarcerated Muslims across the country—and our responsibility as an Ummah to those too often forgotten behind prison walls.
Drawing from their remarkable personal journeys and years of service, Imam Jesse Maroney and Br. Tobias Tubbs of Link Outside will share reflections on faith, dignity, resilience, incarceration, and redemption, while exploring how our communities can better support incarcerated and formerly incarcerated brothers and sisters.
Imam Jesse Maroney is the Co-Founder and Program Coordinator of Link Outside, a national Muslim prison outreach organization serving incarcerated individuals, returning citizens, and new Muslims through education, mentorship, spiritual development, and community support. Having embraced Islam while incarcerated as a young man, he has devoted his life to helping others transform adversity into purpose through faith, service, and personal growth.
Through Link Outside, Jesse has helped develop faith-based educational programs, distribute thousands of Islamic books and educational resources, and support the spiritual growth and reintegration of individuals across the country. He also serves as Religious Director at Masjid Umar ibn al-Khattab in Los Angeles and is a public speaker on spirituality, prison reform, personal transformation, and community development.
Br. Tobias Tubbs spent 28 years wrongfully incarcerated in California after receiving two life sentences without the possibility of parole for a crime he did not commit. During his incarceration, he devoted himself to education, conflict resolution, personal growth, and serving others. Today, he works with Link Outside to support rehabilitation, reentry, and stronger connections between incarcerated individuals and the wider community.
Link Outside is a national Muslim prison outreach organization dedicated to serving incarcerated individuals, returning citizens, and new Muslims through education, mentorship, spiritual development, and community support.
The program will include a conversation followed by a brief moderated Q&A. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn more about Link Outside’s work and ways to support its mission.
