Instructor: Dr. Daoud Nassimi

Islamic character begins with the heart. Our intentions, spiritual habits, relationships, worship, and conduct are all shaped by what we cultivate within.

This 10-week course examines the Islamic process of spiritual purification and the development of noble character. Students will learn to recognize spiritual diseases and harmful qualities of the heart while exploring the virtues and manners that nurture sincerity, humility, gratitude, patience, compassion, and excellence in character.

The opening sessions will establish the foundations of tazkiyah, spirituality, Islamic ethics, and akhlaq. From there, the course will examine how inner transformation should shape not only our private relationship with Allah but also our worship, behavior, relationships, and everyday dealings with others.

The goal is not simply to identify good and bad traits, but to better understand the lifelong process through which the believer struggles against spiritual vice and intentionally cultivates the qualities beloved to Allah.
