Join us for a 3-week Series on The Idols of Our Times led by by Ustadh Saad Omar

As Muslims, we have an obligation to worship and obey God.  However, the modern word has many temptations that seem to capture our focus instead.  While most of us do not explicitly worship these distraction, there are many times when we choose to prioritize them instead of God.  And other times, when faced with the choice of obeying God or obeying worldly temptations, we make the latter choice.

Be it materialism, money, desires, or our own egos, how can we reign in and control our lesser, worldly impulses?  Is there a healthy amount of worldly pleasure we should incorporate into our lives?  And how can we reprioritize the remembrance of God in our lives and in our hearts?

Doors for the event open at 7:45 for coffee and connection, event starts at 8:30 after Isha Prayer.

One ticket covers all 3 weeks and are available at the door.  Donations are greatly appreciated and help us fund future events!

Open to young professionals ages 21+, we look forward to seeing you there!

Schedule

Week 2 – Nov 13th: Worship of Money

Everyone wants to make secure that bag, rake in those zeros, and live with luxuries and without care.  But at what cost?  If it comes at the price of your morality and your God, is it too high a price to pay?

Week 3 – Nov 20th: Worship of Desires

Every man and woman has a wolf instead of them.  A wolf that lacks self-control and intellect.  When that wolf is allowed to run free and indulge in lust, in excess, and in emotion, it can destroy both your life and the life around you.  How can we control that wolf within us, especially know that it will always be there and take the form or many temptations?
